Summerville Roofing started where most decent local companies start — a small crew, a truck, and a phone that you answer. We don't talk about ourselves much, so this page is mostly an attempt to put down honestly who we are and how we work.
The kind of work we do.
We replace, repair, and reroof homes across Summerville, Knightsville, Cane Bay, Nexton, Pine Forest, Sangaree, Wescott Plantation, Legend Oaks, and the downtown historic district. We're licensed in South Carolina, carry general liability and workers' comp insurance, and are certified installers for the major shingle manufacturers our customers care about.
Most of our jobs come from referrals — neighbors, real estate agents, the home inspector at the end of the street. We do not door-knock after storms, we do not chase claims, and we do not employ commissioned salespeople. The price you get on the estimate is the price we'll do the work for.
What our team looks like.
We keep our crew small on purpose. Smaller crew, fewer projects in motion at once, more attention per job. Our foremen have been roofing in the Lowcountry for years and they know what works here — what wind ratings to install for our coastal zone, which flashing patterns hold up around chimney chases, which valley configurations stop pine needles from damming.
We don't put names on this page because our crew composition shifts and we'd rather you trust the work than the marketing. When you call, you'll get a person who answers questions directly.
The Summerville part.
We're based in Summerville and we mostly work here. Some roofers chase storm money up and down the coast — we don't. The advantage of staying local is that we end up servicing the same neighborhoods over years, sometimes decades. We see how our roofs hold up. We hear about problems quickly. We get referred by the homeowner's sister-in-law two doors down.
It's the kind of business model that doesn't scale spectacularly but lasts. We're fine with that.
What we believe about pricing.
Roofs are expensive. We try to make the pricing as clear as possible — line-itemed estimates, honest material and labor splits, and no "discount if you sign today" tricks. If we're more expensive than the other quote you got, we'll tell you what the difference is. If we're cheaper, we'll tell you why. The goal is for you to make a decision with full information.
If you've read this far and you want to talk about a roof — call us or send a quick note. We'll come out and take a look.
